| Salvatore says... | This beautiful, vibrant, caring 3 year old girl is Bella. At a year old Bella began showing significant signs of problems and delays in her motor skills. She has very low muscle tone, no reflexes, and she has been in full foot and ankle braces since she was a year old. At 3 years old she has been tested as having the physical abilities of a 19 month old child. Bellas neurologist is concerned that, among other problems, she may lose her ability to walk by the time she is 20. Bella has already had several severe health issues and has already had to undergo surgery at two years of age. It is highly likely that Bella has Charcot-Marie Tooth disease, a group of disorders passed down through families that affect the nerves outside the brain and spine. This disease has no known cure, though physical therapy, braces for walking, and surgery can help to slow the process. To understand which of the groups of diseases Bella has and how it will affect her requires multiple tests. Her doctors can make an educated guess that these issues are connected with Charcot-Marie Tooth but will not be able to properly diagnose or treat her without the help of her father. Unfortunately, he has refused to release the results of tests he has already performed and take a simple blood test. Robin, Bellas mother, is in the process of getting a court to compel Bellas father to undergo as many tests as is necessary to help diagnose Bellas condition. Robin has accrued well over $23,000 in legal fees over the past year while trying to attain these records on behalf of her daughter Bella. Robin is not rich and Bella needs our help. Robin has made significant monthly payments toward this debt and has done everything she can to earn the money needed to pursue this cause for her daughter. In addition to Robins monthly payments, she needs to pay $10,000 to her legal counsel, by the end of April, to retain legal services during the final court hearing. Any and all money collected here will go directly to Robin to cover legal costs to help support an effort to attain medical records to diagnose Bella. I am a close family friend and I am crazy about this little girl, she has the biggest heart, please help if you can. Thank you for your blessings for Bella. Continue Reading >>
